Lucy T. (Svizzero) Salvatore, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died Friday February 19 at home. She was 84 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Salvatore for 62 years.
Born in Quincy on July 19, 1925, she was the loving daughter of the late Salvatore and Antonia (Cercone) Svizzero. Mrs. Svizzero graduated from Quincy High School, worked at the Quincy Shipyard during WWII and later worked for Raytheon Corp., formerly of Quincy. She was a devoted Homemaker and Mother. She was an avid golfer and Boston sports fan. Mrs. Salvatore was a very active former member of the Pembroke Golf Club, where she helped to organize its Jimmy Fund Charity Golf Tournament and more recently was a member of the Rockland Golf Course. She was a former member of the St. John's Ladies Sodality and Bowling League, and was a long time contributor to the Italian Home for Children.
She was the loving mother of Richard Salvatore and his wife Kathy of Quincy, Janet McKeen of Rockland and John Salvatore and his wife Lisa of Quincy. She was the sister of John Svizzero of Duxbury, Dino Svizzero of FL. and the late Henry Svizzero. She was the cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Wednesday February 24 at 8am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John's Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 9am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Salvatore's memory to Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Drive, Braintree, MA 02184.
