Robert E. McAuliffe of Mansfield died Sunday, August 8 at the Harrington House in Walpole. He was 81 years old. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Connolly) McAuliffe.
Born on October 6, 1928 in Weymouth, he was the loving son of the late Edwin and Helen (O'Brien) McAuliffe. Mr. McAuliffe graduated from Colby College in Waterville, ME and served in the United States Army during WWII where he was decorated with the Victory Medal. He was the New England Regional Manager for Corn Products Company International from which he retired in 1995 after 25 years of dedicated service. Mr. McAuliffe was a member of the Bottler's Group of MA and the Candy Technologists of Boston. He enjoyed bird watching, music and played the trumpet in the military.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McAuliffe is survived by his children, Robert E. McAuliffe Jr. and his wife Lois of Medfield, Cathleen M. Moynihan and her husband James of N. Attleboro, Maureen A. Clang and her husband Brian of Mansfield and Mark A. McAuliffe of Scarborough, ME. He was the cherished grandfather of Jamie and Meghan Moynihan and Kevin, Alyssa and Connor Clang.
Funeral from the Bolea-Amici Funeral Home, 115 N. Main Street, Mansfield on Thursday August 12 at 9:30am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rte. 106) Mansfield at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-7pm. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
