Leo E. Mathieu died Saturday July 17. He was 79 years old. He was the beloved husband of Edith “Edie” (DuVarney) Mathieu.
He was born on January 16, 1931 In Nashua, N.H. Mr. Mathieu served two years in the United States Naval Reserves and four years in the United States Air Force and upon discharge moved to Braintree. In 1992 he retired from Thompson Durkee Plumbing Company and traveled around the country with his wife Edie. Leo's favorite pass time was Round Dance Teaching and Cueing.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Mathieu is survived by his daughters, Celeste Perkins and her husband Joseph of Braintree, Lenore Grazioso and her husband John of Quincy and his son Leon Mathieu and his wife Geraldine (Kelleher) of Raynham. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. He was the loving brother of Paul Mathieu of Clermont, FL and Madeline Parent of Leesburg, FL.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Wednesday July 21 at 8am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 95 Crescent Street, Quincy at 9am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be in Bourne National Cemetery at a later date.
