Helen (Holmes) Marinella of Quincy and Provincetown died Friday September 24 at Quincy Medical Center. She was 90 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Rocco Marinella for 66 years.
Born in Provincetown on June 30, 1920, she was the loving daughter of the late Lewis and Anna (Stewart) Holmes. She was a graduate of North Quincy High School. Mrs. Marinella worked for the Thomas Crane Public Library from where she retired after 40 years of dedicated service. Helen loved to walk along Wollaston Beach and at the South Shore Plaza with her husband. She loved the Red Sox, bingo and just being at home with her husband.
Mrs. Marinella was the loving sister of Doris Sweetman of Quincy and the late Stuart (Cuffy) Holmes. She was the sister in law of Mimi DeSantis of Quincy, her dear friend for many years. She was the aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Wednesday September 29 at 12pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours will held on Tuesday from 4-7pm. Interment in Mount Wollaston Cemetery. Mrs. Marinella's family would like to thank the staff at Hancock Park Nursing Home in Quincy for the excellent care and all the new friends she made there.
