Anna J. (Ramirez) Gentile of Quincy died Wednesday August 18. She was 87 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Gentile (Ret. Q.P.D. Det.) for 39years.
Born on February 11, 1923 in Boston, she was the loving daughter of the late Benjamin and Julia (Benulis) Ramirez. She graduated from the High School of Practical Arts in Boston, Class of 1941. Mrs. Gentile worked wiring for the Land Shore Transport boats during WWII at the Lolli Shipyard in Dorchester. She was a devoted family person and Homemaker, an avid Sportswoman, Equestrian and enjoyed scuba diving and skiing.
Mrs. Gentile was the loving mother of Carole Ann Fucillo and her husband William S. (B.P.D. Ret.) of Canton and Rosemarie Gentile of Quincy. She was the cherished grandmother of Christian E. Lorenzen (Det. C.P.D.) of Chattanooga, TN and Stephen E. Fucillo (Suffolk County Dep. Sherriff) of Brighton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Saturday August 21 at 8am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John's Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 9am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are Friday 4-8pm. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery.
