Elaine P. Gallo, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died peacefully on Monday, September 20 th , surrounded by her loving family and friends, at the Hancock Park Nursing and Rehab in Quincy after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 82 years old.
Born in Quincy on January 29, 1928, she was the loving daughter of the late Gerardo and Pierina (Calderara) Gallo. She was a graduate of Quincy High School's class of 1945. She worked for Raytheon, formerly of Quincy and then devoted many years as Head Decorator at Montilio's Bakery in Quincy Square. Elaine was always the life of the party and was very dedicated to her family and friends. She was always there with a smile, a lending hand or a joke. Her sense of humor and good nature could always light up a room. She enjoyed traveling with her lifelong companion Ann and spent many vacations up at Lake George. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Elaine was the sister the late Alfio Gallo
and his wife Yvonne of Quincy; Gloria Sherwin and her late husband Gordon of NH and Edna Ruest and her husband Norman of CT. She was the lifelong friend of the late Ann M. Connolly. She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, along with many beloved family friends. Elaine was also the Godmother to many loving Godchildren.
Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John's Church, 44 School Street, Quincy on Wednesday, September 29 th at 10 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are being omitted.
