Albert P. DelVecchio of Braintree died Wednesday November 11 at the Charlwell House Nursing Facility in Norwood. He was 86 years old. He was the beloved husband to Connie (Tosches) DelVecchio for 62 years.
Born October 7, 1923 in Quincy, he was the loving son of the late Frank and Antoinette (Angelis) DelVecchio. He was a graduate of the former Quincy Trade School. He was a Sheet Metal Draftsman for Harrington Bros. Sheet Metal Co. formerly of Medford for over 50 dedicated years.
Mr. DelVecchio was a member of the United States Army and served in World War II. During his years of military service he was a P.O.W., was a Purple Heart recipient and received two Bronze Stars.
Mr. DelVecchio was a very active member of St. Clare's Parish in Braintree. He was a Eucharistic Minister and served at daily Masses, served as past president of the Holy Name Society, Taught C.C.D. and was a member of their bowling league. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, the Braintree Lion's Club and the D.A.V. in Braintree.
In addition to his wife, Mr. DelVecchio is also survived by his children Paula and Theresa, his grandchildren Candace, Brittany and Bret, and his great-grandchildren Peter and Ciaran.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy on Monday November 16 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Clare's Church, 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree at 10:15am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours are Sunday 2-6pm. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery with full Military Honors.
