Peter Bolea of Quincy passed away peacefully on Saturday September 25 at the Samuel Marcus Nursing Home in Weymouth. He was 87 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Navarroli) Bolea and the late Jeannie (Martel) Sullivan.
Born in Boston on September 12, 1923, he was the loving son of the late Domenico and Giovanna (Navarroli) Bolea. Peter Left school to join the United States Navy where he served on seaplanes in Florida, Puerto Rico and the Philippines during WWII. Upon his return from the Service he worked for Boston Gear Works and attended Night School. He then continued classes and worked as a Sheet Metal Instructor at Norfolk State Prison until he retired in 1978. Mr. Bolea was a Past Commander of American Legion Post #95 in Quincy.
Mr. Bolea was the loving brother of Mary Mariano and her husband Lewis of West Quincy and the late Armando Bolea and Luigi Bolea. He was the father of Marilyn Sandonato of Scituate and Denise Arrata of Holbrook. He is also survived by 3 granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bolea was the long time and devoted friend of Tony Papagno.
Funeral from the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy on Thursday September 30 at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 95 Crescent Street, Quincy at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 pm. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made in Mr. Bolea's memory to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Drive, Braintree. MA 02184.
